Remove and install rubber mounting ring-style hangers just place the hook of the tool through the rubber mounting ring.

Then pull or push to stretch until you can remove ring from the hook on muffler, pipe or frame. Reverse the procedure to install ring. 

It is a special tool to stretch and remove the hanging rubber
ring of the muffler stay.
Pass the hook of the tool tip through the rubber ring and
remove the rubber ring from the muffler stay by stretching it.
